Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games are collaborating along a single-player, open-world Star Warscrippled, it has been revealed. The upcoming project is being matured by Ubisoft Massive, the studio behindThe Division 2, with it set apart to severalise an unconventional story within the galaxy far, farthest away.
This new announcement shows that Walter Elias Disney is stepping away from Ea, the game publishing firm that has owned the exclusivity rights toMajor Warssince 2013. After the announcement of Lucasfilm Games earlier this workweek, IT was revealed that Bethesda was collaborating with the company on anIndiana Jonesspunky. Immediately, Ubisoft has also revealed that it's working on its ownLeading Warsgame, marker another huge developer working with the blockbuster IP.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot released the following statement (via Wired):
"The Star Wars coltsfoot is an amazing source of motivation for our teams to introduce and push the boundaries of our medium. Building untested worlds, characters and stories that leave get over lasting parts of the Star Wars lore is an incredible opportunity for America, and we are excited to have our Ubisoft Massive studio working closely with Lucasfilm Games to create an original Star Wars adventure that is different from anything that has been done before."

It was as wel habitual by Wired that some the Lucasfilm Games and Ea's pastStar Warsoutput will be part of the same canon as all of the franchise's other media, including the sequel trilogy and TV series such asThe Mandalorian. While this doesn't mean that the Ubisoft back will directly bind into any of these events, it means that it volition still be set inside the same continuity, as will EA's former turnout such asJedi: Fallen Order (which recently received its big next-gen update).
